Postscript

OK, question time :-)

1. Landmines

Don’t be rediculous. People travel on these tracks every day to get home and into town. Rural does not mean abandonned. You just have to not go OFF the marked tracks.

2. Crocodiles

They were in fact alive. There were loads of them just laying about in water at the back of the restaurant (on another level so they couldn’t bite you, which I suppose was a good thing, but also less exciting. mwa ha ha).

3. Naming my bike

My bike does not have a name! I’m abusing it a little, which might have to stop if it becomes so personal as to have a name, But if you have any really good suggestions, I’m all ears.

4. Beverages

There’s nothing local about the local alcohol, I think because Cambodia is historically a Buddhist country, and Buddhists and alcohol don’t mix well. I shall do some digging though. I do a combination of buying bottled water, getting free water in restaurants, and filling my bottle up from the uber-bottle at work.

5. I can’t upload my photos at the moment, because the software isn’t installed on any of the PCs I have access to. I THINK I brought the installation disk with me, so I should be able to sort it. I really hope so, so I can show you, and also cos I’ll fill my memory card up too quickly!

And I have heard of TEFL but haven’t yet explored it, cos I was presuming you had to pay for its advice. I shall gander though. Mum, shall I send you a copy of my manual when it’s near completion, so you can both have and check?

Name for bike: the Crocodile, cos sometimes they bite! Also like crocodiles, they haven’t evolved much since their inception — not substantially, anyway.
